What is a hostel?

A hostel is a quality budget accommodation offering a friendly environment. It is a perfect way to get to explore a country and meet people from around the world while using the communal facilities such as kitchen, social lounge area and bar. Hostels offer a wide range of options including shared rooms (either singles sex or mixed) and private rooms.

Who can stay at the hostel?

Do age limit exists at the hostels?

Hostels are open to everyone. Minimum age limit may exist in certain hostels. Please check the information page of the hostel on There should be no upper limit to stay at the hostel.

Do hostels organise trips and activities?

Hostels have a wealth of information and local knowledge to make your visit to the city exciting. many hostels organise wide range of trips and activities themselves or through partnerships. If you want something to be organised you may check with the hostel for it. Generally you will find that IBHN hostel staffs are co-operative with your requests.

Can I bring my pet when I stay at a hostel?

Pets are welcome at some hostels. Please check with the hostel or call us before making the booking.

What type of facilities are provided for wheelchair users?

many hostels have adopted the need for wheelchair users. We recommend you to get in touch with the hostel before making the booking as many hostel structure may not support easy access for the wheelchair.

What about safety and security?

Guest safety and security is our primary concern. Majority of the hostels will have lockers or safes in the room where your belongings could be kept. Some hostels may require you to have your own padlock or hire/purchase one from the reception.

Do I need to bring a sleeping bag?

Sleeping bags are not always permitted at the hostels due to hygiene regulations. Bed linen would usually be provided by the hostels.

What are the assured quality standards by Backpacker Panda?

The assured quality standards set out the level of welcome, comfort, cleanliness, security, privacy, facilities and technology adoption.

What time can I check in / check out?

The check in and check out time of the properties may vary. It is best to look at the property section on our website to get the most accurate time. If you do arrive a little early, we try to help you relax at the communal area. Ask for free wi-fi or games to relax.

Do I need travel insurance?

We recommend that you always obtain adequate travel insurance before you leave on your travels.

Do I need towels?

In most hostels towels may not be included in your price. if they are not included, you will need to carry your own towel or hire one from the hostel. Please check with the hostel directly.

Do you have female exclusive dorms?

Yes, innate most of the hostels. Booking options would display female exclusive dorm option if it is available.

How can I book a shuttle or car pick up to the hostel?

Can local resident of the city / town stay at the hostel?

Unfortunately, most of our hostel may not allow the resident of the same city / town to stay at the property since it is for travellers. Please check with the hostel directly if they may allow.

How to book a bed at Backpacker Panda hostels?

It’s been never so easy to book a bed with us. Simply go to our home page and add your destination, dates you want to stay with us and number of people and follow the booking process and payment.

Are my card or internet banking details safe?

Absolutely. We have taken every security measure and complied with Information Technology Act to ensure that your data stays protected.

Are there special discount for journalist, bloggers or artists?

Please contact us by email to request for the discount if there is any promotion running at the time of your booking.

What if I see the availability of the room type that I wish to stay in for the duration of my selected date range as zero? Does that mean I cannot stay at the hostel during those dates?

In case the availability of a particular room type is displayed as '0' for a particular date range, you can still make the booking by breaking it down into separate room types for the duration of your stay. Eg: While making a booking from 27-March-2017 to 30-March-2017 for a six-bed dormitory, if you see the availability on the last day i.e. 29-March-2017 as zero; you can go ahead and make a booking from 27-March-2017 to 28-March-2017 in a six bed dormitory and create a separate booking for 28-March-2017 to 29-March-2017 by selecting a different room type apart from the ones unavailable.

Cancellation and / or modification

What is your modification policy?

Date changes (without reduction in number of nights booked) can be done subject to availability and applicable rates. All decisions regarding booking modifications are purely at the management’s discretion.

How do i check my booking confirmation?

How do I cancel or amend my booking?

To cancel or amend your booking you need to contact us at Reservations that are cancelled before the free cancellation period from the arrival date are not charged. While failing to cancel before the free cancellation period from the arrival date or no shows will incur cancellation charges in full. Please check for the free cancellation period of each property on the property page. Group Booking: Any booking qualifying as group booking (booking of 4 or more people) may have different cancellation policy.

What is the longest duration I can stay at a hostel?
